Getting the proper amount of sleep is vital to overall health and wellness. In fact, some experts put adequate sleep on the same health level as exercise and proper nutrition when it comes to wellbeing and longevity.
But what can you do if you have trouble getting that adequate amount, which is a minimum of 7.5 hours per night for grown adults?
Here are some suggestions you may want to incorporate in your nightly routine for better sleep results:
Turn off electronics
Switch off your phone, don’t turn on the television or the radio. You don’t have to catch up with the news every single day. You don’t have to be on social media, every second of every day. In addition to the stress of the constant noise or visual stimulation, the blue light emitted from screens can actually keep your brain awake.
Plan to turn off all electronics and stimulation 30 minutes before you hope to fall asleep. Read a book, write in your journal, meditate or just sit with yourself before drifting off.
Prepare for the next day
Are you working out in the morning? Set out your workout clothes so they are ready to go. The same is true for work clothes. You can also prep breakfast items in advance and pack your lunch. Having your clothing and other items ready to go is also going to give you a sense of confidence and self-worth.
Try sleep aids
Getting to sleep after a busy day can feel like climbing a mountain for some. Many have turned to CBD oil tincture which is made from a hemp plant. It has the ability to soothe the mind, slow down thoughts and also help muscles to unwind. The oil can be put into drinks and food. You can also try natural sleep supplements such as melatonin to help you drift off.

Self-massage
If you feel tense and stressed and need some extra pair of hands to massage you, you might be left waiting .A self-massage can be done to almost any body part, as long as you know some techniques. This can help you relax, relieve pain and get to sleep faster, and for longer.
What part of your evening routine could you improve?
