There’s no question that motherhood puts a strain on you — physically and mentally. Even with its rewarding experiences, moms can experience moments of identity crisis — especially new moms.
Each new mom is different but here are some simple ideas that may help you feel back in touch with YOU in the days, weeks and months following childbirth.
Get Your Hair Done
Most mothers deal with postpartum hair loss and no one tells you about it until you are around five months post-baby. They say, “oh yeah, that’s normal,” as if having handfuls of hair coming out in the shower isn’t alarming. Of course, hair loss is very normal following pregnancy but getting a new hairdo or cutting off the excess can make you feel like a new woman.
Buy New Lingerie
Buy something that fits your new body and makes you feel completely sexy. With the right bra size calculator, your breasts will feel more supported. If you just aren’t feeling like any skimpy just yet, get some new leggings or sweatpants and comfortable camisoles.
Stay Active
Take a walk outside pushing the baby in the stroller, turn on music and dance around your home or do anything that gets you moving and your endorphins pumping. You don’t need to do anything strenuous or put extra pressure on yourself to “work out” or “lose weight” but finding ways to stay active — walking, dancing, yoga — can help you feel more in control of your body and life.
