This slow cooker recipe honey chicken tastes amazing and is cake to throw together. You need just a handful of ingredients and a crock pot and you’re in business! Serve the honey chicken with some rice and poof! A delicious meal for you and your family. I found this online at damndelicous.net and made a couple small tweaks based on the ingredients I had on hand (I didn’t have sesame seeds or green onions). It.is.delicious indeed!

Slow cooker honey chicken recipe ingredients:

Around 2 lbs chicken thighs
2 cloves minced garlic
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup honey
1/4 cup ketchup
1 small onion
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

Slow cooker honey chicken recipe directions:

Place the chicken in a slow cooker. Combine the garlic, soy sauce, honey, ketchup, vegetable oil and red pepper flakes and mix. Pour over the chicken, making sure the sauce covers the meat. Cover and cook on low for around 3 1/2 hours.

Take the chicken out of the crock pot and shred the meat. Return to the crock pot and mix with the juices. Cover and keep warm for about 30 minutes (or longer if need be).

Serve the honey chicken with white or brown rice. Whip up someĀ white chocolate raspberry muffins to serve for dessert and you and your family will be a bunch of happy campers!

This slow cooker honey chicken recipe is simple and the meat is SO tender and flavorful! I don’t have many recipes that use dark meat, but I really enjoy how flavorful it is. While dark meat is less healthy than white meat, it was a welcome change from the usual recipes that call for chicken breasts. The slow cooker honey chicken recipe made the cut in this house and we’ll definitely have it again! You can never have too many easy and affordable crock pot recipes.
