Maura Benson

My husband will eat just about anything but claims that tacos are his all-time favorite, so this taco pizza recipe was one I had to try. He also happens to be a great cook (a lot better than me), so it’s sometimes a challenge to “wow” him with my homemade meals. One night last week I decided to change things up a bit and made a taco
pizza. It ended up being completely delicious and better than I anticipated.

I am a work-at-home mom and making dinner can sometimes be a challenge with my very active 10 month old son. This meal was relatively easy and we thankfully had the ingredients already on hand. Oh, and my husband loved it! There was even some room for leftovers. Take a look at how to make it to impress your own family:

Taco Pizza Recipe Ingredients:

1 roll premade pizza or bread dough (I used frozen)

1 lb ground turkey

1 pkt taco seasoning

½ can refried beans

½ cup salsa or taco sauce

1 cup lowfat shredded cheese

1 tomato, chopped

1 jalapeno sliced

1 cup chopped lettuce (I used baby romaine, but any type will
work!)

sour cream (optional)

Instructions:

Roll out your pizza dough and follow any preheating and pre-baking instructions. Cook the ground turkey, drain the fat and add the taco seasoning according to package instructions.

Spread the refried beans on the dough leaving an edge for the crust. Then top with salsa, taco meat, cheese, jalapeno slices and tomato. Bake again per the dough package instructions. Once the pizza is fully cooked add the lettuce. Serve immediately and top each piece with sour cream.

Hope you enjoy this taco pizza recipe as much as we do! Do you have a taco recipe that your family loves? Share it in the comments!
