Heather C Heather C is a married, mom of three: big sis Lily and identical twins Natalie and Sophia. She has been guest blogging for Mumbling Mommy since February of 2012 and began working as a Social Media Editor in 2014. After nearly a decade in banking, she now works part time at a doctor's office specializing in breastfeeding medicine and spends the rest of her days in her Midwest home as zookeeper/stay-at-home-mom. Heather C is also a runner, hiker, yogi, bike rider and more. She reads when she finds more than a few minutes to herself and she hosts a lot of pajama dance parties in her kitchen. In her spare time, she's the co-leader for her daughter's Girl Scout troop and an active member of the school's Parent-Teacher Committee as well as a certified postpartum doula.

When I first joined Mumbling Mommy, I was a 26-year-old mom to a 2 ½ year old and 10-week-old twins. Now here I am, nearly a year later, having freshly celebrated another birthday, and now I have a 3 ½ year old preschooler and crawling-like-wild twinfants just weeks away from their first birthday.

You have all joined me in this journey as I blogged my way through breastfeeding, finding new hobbies, the financial woes of having a bigger family, hot topics, marriage, and my past with infertility and miscarriages.

In the past year, we’ve gone through big changes. In addition to taking our family from three members to five, my career life has taken a major change. Prior to joining Mumbling Mommy, I worked 30 hours a week at a local bank.

I continued working there on the weekends post twins in hopes that we would find the perfect daycare setting or in-home nanny; but after much deep soul searching, it became obvious that I was meant to be a stay-at-home/work-at-home mom. I began doing freelance writing back in February and in September I officially left the bank. In addition to my business writing, I contribute here and help run another parenting blog at www.amateurparenting.com.

It’s safe to say I stay busy.

I spent a good portion of the early year battling postpartum depression and anxiety following the birth of the twins. I began counseling in April and completed treatment over the summer. I’m in no way cured but I’m healing and with the support of family and friends, I’m in a much better place.

As I wrap up my first year as a mom of multiples, I’m looking forward to many things. I love that my babies are getting bigger. They are exploring new things every day. The more they grow, the more they bond with their biggest sister and I love watching my kids together. Sure, there’s complete chaos most days but it’s great!

As the year comes to a close, I have a first birthday for two of my favorite girls to plan and celebrate, amazing family fall activities to take in (especially since I missed them all being on bed rest last year), and a huge excitement building both in the little ones and myself for the holidays. I’m looking forward to continue my work with Mumbling Mommy and connecting with the readers. So here’s to another great year of growing, learning and reaching out to one another!
